Operating Information
The ATS must be sized correctly for the generator set and the main incoming Amperage. This ensures that when the incoming mains power is live, the ATS box can handle it safely. If this is done incorrectly, the ATS will overheat and cease to function correctly. Therefore, the sizing of the ATS should always be done by a professional, taking into account the mains incoming power and the generator output.
The key on the generator has to be in the "On" position for the automatic changeover switch to work.
Our motorised switches can also be operated manually. By selecting the manual switch and using the handle provided, you can manually switch from Mains to Generator if needed.
Important Compatibility Note: Our Automatic Transfer Switches are specifically designed for use with our generators. Control systems vary between manufacturers, so it is not advisable to purchase a Bundu Power ATS for use with another brand of generator.
Installation & Protection
- Our ATS boxes are IP54 rated and should be placed undercover to protect them from heavy rain.
- Surge protection on the mains incoming into the ATS should always be installed to protect the ATS switch, your generator, and your household from surges.
- Fluctuating voltage on your mains incoming can cause your ATS Switch to malfunction and the generator to start and stop by itself. The generator has a specific operating voltage window; if the voltage or frequency falls outside of these parameters, the generator will cycle even when power is technically present.
