DeepSea DSEWebNet Remote Communication

DeepSea

Technical Note

The DSE890 MKII is a single IoT gateway with both 4G LTE and wired Ethernet built in — not separate options, but dual paths for complete connectivity redundancy. It connects to supported DeepSea controllers via USB, RS485, CAN, or Ethernet. A SIM card is required for cellular use and is not supplied with the module.

Dual Connectivity, One Gateway

Every DSE890 MKII includes both 4G LTE and wired Ethernet. The gateway can use either path — or both — for complete connectivity redundancy at your site. MQTT broker support is also built in for integration with third-party monitoring and automation systems.

  • 4G LTE with 2G/3G fallback and GPS asset tracking
  • Wired Ethernet for fixed installations and local network access
  • DSEWebNet online monitoring, SMS/email alerts, and remote start/stop/test
  • MQTT broker support for third-party SCADA, BMS, and IoT platforms
  • Up to 5 connected DeepSea controllers via USB, RS485, CAN, or Ethernet

Connectivity Redundancy

4G and Ethernet are both onboard. If mobile coverage drops, the gateway can fall back to a wired link — or run both paths for maximum uptime.

DSEWebNet cloud monitoring

DSEWebNet Cloud

Live instrumentation, alarm notifications, remote configuration, and geo-fencing through the DSEWebNet portal and mobile app.

MQTT Integration

Publish genset data and receive remote commands through a compatible MQTT broker — ideal for tying DeepSea assets into existing third-party monitoring stacks.

DSE890 MKII IoT Gateway

  • Online Monitoring: View live instrumentation and operating states from any browser or the DSEWebNet mobile app (iOS & Android).
  • Remote Configuration: Clear alarm conditions, adjust settings, and review event logs without visiting the site.
  • Remote Control: Start, stop, or test your generator remotely via DSEWebNet or a compatible MQTT broker.
  • Geo-Fencing: Built-in GPS tracking with geo-fencing for mobile installations and theft protection.

The DSE890 MKII communicates with up to five connected DeepSea controllers, logging data internally before transmission to the DSEWebNet cloud server or an MQTT broker. Alerts can be sent by SMS and email for active alarms, low fuel, and genset status changes. With both 4G LTE (2G/3G fallback) and wired Ethernet onboard, the gateway delivers complete connectivity redundancy — cellular where the site is remote, Ethernet where a fixed network is available, or both for maximum resilience.

DSEWebNet is a cloud-based monitoring platform. Availability and features depend on network coverage at the installation site. Contact our team for compatibility checks with your DeepSea controller model.
